Principle Update for 2/26
Greetings Jackson-Reed Community,
I hope everyone had a wonderful February break and is looking forward to our students returning to school tomorrow. As we return to school tomorrow, I want to thank those students who have already taken and uploaded their COVID-19 test results. This DCPS mitigation strategy takes place after each extended break, and students should plan to arrive early, as we will be verifying test results as students enter the building. Students who cannot upload their results may present a picture of their negative COVID-19 test.
The final phases of the FY24 budget process will soon take place. Before the break, I heard recommendations from members of our Local School Advisory Team and stakeholders across our school. I will share the proposed budget with the Local School Advisory Team this week and submit the FY24 budget for central office approval. An FY24 budget presentation will take place later in March. Thank you to everyone that participated in the multiple budget engagement opportunities. Your involvement helped identify areas of need and where we should invest in supporting our students.
On Thursday, March 2nd, at 6 pm, we will be hosting a safety and facilities session open to all our school community members. This session is part of an ongoing dialogue to discuss our approach and progress in school safety and facilities management. In addition, DCPS security and DCPS facilities officials will be present to share updates and answer questions.
We look forward to your participation in this upcoming event.
