Principal’s Message: November 3, 2024
Greetings Jackson-Reed Faculty, Staff, and Community,
I hope everyone is adjusting well to the daylight savings time change and having an enjoyable weekend. We are now in November, which is National Native American Heritage Month, a time when we honor the culture and traditions of our Indigenous peoples. November is also National Gratitude Month, a time when we can be more intentional about giving thanks and showing our appreciation to others.
As we end the first term this week and start the second one, it’s a good time to pause and express our appreciation. I’m thankful for the dedication of our faculty and staff who have done so much to support our students, I’m grateful for our students who have shown great pride in our school and care for their peers, and I appreciate our engaged families who partner with us to provide our students the best education possible. Let’s continue to display an attitude of gratitude this month and throughout the year.
As a reminder, there is no school for students on Monday, November 4th so faculty and staff can engage in professional development and record-keeping. The school will also be closed for students on Tuesday, November 5th due to election day. The second term begins when our students return on Wednesday, November 6th and we’re looking forward to helping them be another step closer to earning their high school diploma.
