Principal’s Message: October 13, 2024
Greetings Jackson-Reed Faculty, Staff, and Community,
I hope this message finds you well and that you enjoy this long, holiday weekend. As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, October 14th as we honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time to celebrate and recognize the many contributions made by Indigenous communities.
Our Homecoming festivities take place this week, a time when we can all show our school pride. There will be multiple Spirit Week events, such as theme days, a pep rally, and a school dance. I want to thank the Student Government Association for coordinating these events and invite everyone to join us for our football game on Saturday at 2 p.m. We ask for your support in ensuring our events are safe and enjoyable for everyone in the Jackson-Reed community.
Additionally, this week Jackson-Reed will be hosting the cluster meeting for high school principals. Principals from both cluster 8 and cluster 9 schools will be visiting our campus on Wednesday, October 16th to engage in professional development, share educational best practices, and observe classrooms. I’m looking forward to others seeing the talented staff and incredible students I get to work with each day!
