Rising Senior Kickoff: School Counselor One-on-Ones

Dear Class of 2025 & Families,

Congratulations on reaching your senior year! We are thrilled to welcome you and your family (guardian) back to school from August 6-23rd to kick off the 2024-2025 academic year! As promised, we will be holding individual meetings to finalize schedules, discuss Dual Enrollment, review the Letter of Understanding, authorize Off-Campus forms, record gown/shirt sizes, confirm the spelling for diplomas, and document community service hours, and solidify schedules. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every student and family understands their DCPS graduation plan.

Please sign up for a mandatory in-person meeting, which will be held in the Library by clicking here. There are a limited number of spaces for these August meetings and we encourage families to sign up as soon as possible (additional meetings will be held after the school year begins). Additionally, please ensure that your Parent and Student Brag sheets are completed and submitted via NAVIANCE by August 6, 2024. Also, prior to your scheduled meeting, log into NAVIANCE and complete the Post-Secondary Survey. Please be prepared to provide proof of completion during your meeting. Lastly, bring all completed community service hour forms, and we appreciate copies of prior service hour documentation as well.

We are enthusiastic about the upcoming school year and look forward to meeting with each of you. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your counselor:

  • Student Last Names (G – O): Dr. Ramona Singletary-Robertson – Ramona.Singletary-Robertson@k12.dc.gov
  • Student Last Names (P – Z): Laurie Ligon – Laurie.Ligon@k12.dc.gov

Sincerely,

The Jackson-Reed HS Senior Team
