Healthcare Career Readiness Program
Black high school youth are invited to become Youth Diabetes Management Coaches for their communities as part of Soul Synergy: Severing Intergenerational Ties with Chronic Illness at Howard University Hospital. As a healthcare career readiness program, youth learn directly from physicians about management and prevention of diabetes and other chronic illnesses while implementing diabetes management action plans for individuals with diabetes. During the Certificate Ceremony, youth lead informed health conversations at the end of the 9-week program. Youth earn prizes (VR, Rock-Climbing, and Target Gift Cards) and 15-20 community-service hours! Program starts Wednesday, February 22. Food provided! Limited Seats!
