Principal's Message
Greetings Jackson-Reed Community,
I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. We are into March, where we celebrate the tremendous accomplishments of women throughout history. Join me in thanking members of our History department, who will provide information and announcements for students to deepen their knowledge of women's pivotal role in shaping society. March also includes time for additional family engagement through two opportunities: our Family-Teacher conferences and the Panorama survey.
Family-Teacher conferences will be virtual, just as earlier in the year. We recognize we have limited slots for conferences, and you are welcome to email any teacher you cannot conference with for information on the performance of your child(ren). Additional information on signing up will be provided soon. The Panorama survey window is open, and we'd like to hear from as many of our families as possible. To conclude Black History Month, Jackson-Reed staff members who belong the Divine Nine sororities and fraternities showed off their spirit during lunch last Tuesday.
Athletics this Week
Our Winter Season is officially over; we had such a great Winter Season for all our sports! We look forward to celebrating at our Winter Season Sports Awards (open only to winter sport student athletes, coaches and their families ) this Wednesday, March 6th.
We would like to give a huge thanks to our amazing Tiger Family for supporting our sports teams all season.

Upcoming Community Service
Invasive Plant Removal at Little Forest Park
Join National Park Service volunteers on Saturday, March 9th from 9 AM - 12 PM, pulling invasive weeds in Little Forest Park. Meet at 28th St and Military Rd NW. Students can earn service hours for this activity. Come for a little bit or stay a while - families are welcome! Please register here to receive event updates.
Community Service Day
The PTSO Class of 2024 Parent Representatives will host a Community Service Day on March 30th, 2024, to help seniors reach their required community service hour total. Please complete this form if you have a cleanup project that you can identify to support our Seniors.
Annual Best Buddies Walk Invite!
Please join the Disability Student Alliance (D.S.A) on the annual Best Buddies Walk on the National Mall on April 27th from 8:30-12:30 (7th and Madison Drive). Consider joining the D.S.A team using this link . You can join the team even if you do not plan on walking. Donations to the Best Buddies organization is appreciated, but it is not required to participate.
