Class of 2024 “November Is College Application Month” Raffle

When: Starting Monday, November 6
Where: College and Career Center
OSSE has designated November as “College Application and Exploration Month”! In honor of this, we are holding a raffle for $25 Target gift cards. Here is how to enter:

  1. Log into Naviance and
  2. Choose your path for after high school in the survey on your Naviance homepage.

At the end of November we will draw twenty winners for a $25 Target gift card!

“What You Need to Know Before You Go” College Student Panel

When: Tuesday, November 7, 12 noon

Calling all seniors! Are you prepared to embark on your exciting journey into college life? Get ready for an enlightening experience at our upcoming event: “What You Should Know Before You Go.”

  • Our panel features a dynamic lineup of college students hailing from the vibrant DMV area. They will share their invaluable insights and experiences, equipping you with the knowledge you need to thrive in your college endeavors.
  • Have burning questions or topics you want to explore? No worries! We will be sending out an email in advance to collect your queries, ensuring that your concerns are addressed during this event.

DCCAP Scholarship Check-ins with Lawrence West and Brittani Pollack, DCCAP

WHEN: Tuesday, November 7, 3 pm and Thursday, November 9, 10 am
WHERE: College and Career Center
Our DCCAP representatives will be at Jackson-Reed on the dates above to help seniors complete their DCCAP scholarship applications.

Trinity Washington University On-Site Admissions Event

WHEN:Wednesday, November 8, 2 pm-3:30 pm
WHERE:College and Career Center

Students who would like to receive admissions decisions during this visit should apply via the application on their website or via the Common App.

Information will also be provided about TheDream.US. TheDream.US offers scholarships for highly motivated undocumented students who want to get a college education but are unable to afford the cost. Applications are open to undocumented immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before November 1, 2018.
