Additional Senior Clearance & Graduation Information

Senior Updates

  • Senior Awards will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Join us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our graduating seniors and recognize their hard work and dedication. Seniors will be recognized in the following categories: academic department awards, Academy awards, and a few special recognition awards. Emails will be sent out to students and their parents if they are receiving an award.

  • Community Service Hours – All seniors must have completed 50 hours of community service and turned in the Community Service Hours form by June 7th to graduate on June 18th. Please contact your counselor if you have questions. If you need immediate community service hours, please connect with NW Community Food in Van Ness. You can sign up here.

  • Senior Clearance will be held from June 11-13 in the main gymnasium. Listed below is the schedule:

Graduation Practice/Class Photo/Senior Picnic – June 14th 

  • Starting at 8:30 a.m., first 100 students will receive an additional 2 tickets (first come, first serve)

  • Graduation Practice will start at 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium.

  • Senior T-Shirts will be distributed after practice

  • Class photo will take place in the stadium (gym, if it is raining)

  • Food Truck Picnic will be held on stadium field


Graduation Ceremony – 10:00 a.m. at Sports and Entertainment Arena, 1100 Oak Drive, SE, Washington, DC 

Reminders for parents and students:

  • No balloons, flowers, or noise making devices are allowed inside of the Sports and Entertainment Arena.

  • Graduates must be at the venue by 8:00 a.m.

  • Parents can only carry small clear bags into the venue.

  • Graduates cannot have bags.

  • Please wear comfortable shoes (Seniors).

  • Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for family and friends.

  • Programs will be electronic (QR codes will be posted).
