Academy of Global Service and Diplomacy (formerly WISP): The Global Service Academy introduces students to the world of International Relations and Diplomacy through rigorous courses and firsthand exposure. AGS students learn to recognize and understanding the cultural differences and similarities of people around the world. It helps to understand and appreciating the impact world affairs have on students and their families while developing an appreciation of the interdependence of countries and cultures in a world society and gaining awareness of careers in International affairs.

Athletic and Academic Achievement: The Academy of Athletic and Academic Achievement is designed for students who are interested in careers within health, fitness, sports management and marketing, nutrition, coaching, broadcasting, and athletic training. AAA students manage game-day operations at home athletic events and facilitate intramural tournaments. Students are exposed to careers in Athletic Training, Sports and Facilities management and Athlete development. AAA students have traveled to Rome, Italy, to assist in implementing sports programming in Italian schools; visited Yankee Stadium in New York City; and spent the day at the Sports Management Department of Towson University.

Leadership Academy - Cybersecurity and JROTC: The Leadership Academy is composed of two tracks: Cybersecurity and JROTC, preparing young adults to become leaders in the school and the greater community. The coursework and extra-curricular activities provide a disciplined model of service and personal growth while providing student a hands-on approach on Cybersecurity techniques, practices and careers.

  • The Cybersecurity track is in partnership with the FBI, allowing our students to compete at high levels and graduate with professional Networking, Security+ and Comptia A+ certifications.
  • The JROTC track courses include classroom and laboratory instruction in history; leadership styles; basic principles of management; financial management; developing a career portfolio; and service learning.

Expectations & Support

Academy Expectations

At graduation, we like to celebrate our students who meet or exceed academy expectations and requirements with an assortment of honorary regalia. Additionally, for underclassmen, there are yearly benchmarks for students to meet and will recognize students who fulfill or exceed these expectations at the end of each year.

Student Supports

For each academy there is a very strong student leadership team who head up different projects and initiatives. One is organizing a mentoring program. Our upperclassmen will be matched with interested underclassmen to serve as a resource for our first and second course students who are navigating both Jackson-Reed and their respective academy.
