Engineering Academy

The Engineering Academy teaches students about the basics of Engineering and prepares them for a career in Engineering. The first two classes are designed to build a foundation of Engineering knowledge, and students can specialize and go deeper in a specific subject in the third course. The fourth course allows students to showcase their knowledge. Click on a course to learn more about it.
Our Pathway
Introduction to Engineering Design (9th Grade)
Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects like designing a new toy or improving an existing product.
Principals of Engineering (10th Grade)
Students explore a broad range of engineering topics including mechanisms, strength of structure and materials, and automation, and then they apply what they know to take on challenges like designing a selfpowered car.
Aerospace Engineering (11th Grade)
Students explore the physics of flight and bring what they're learning to life through hands-on projects like designing a glider and creating a program for an autonomous space rover.
Either Course 11th Grade
Digital Engineering (11th Grade)
Students explore the foundations of computing by engaging in circuit design processes to create combinational logic and sequential logic (memory) as electrical engineers do in industry.
Engineering Design & Development (12th Grade)
Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects like designing a new toy or improving an existing product.
