Important Dates

April 26, 2025: Spring Open House Enrollment Saturday

Jackson-Reed welcomes prospective students to tour the building, learn about our academic and enrichment opportunities, and enroll for the 25-26 school year. More information on signing up will be provided closer to the date. 

Aug 4 – Aug 7, 2025: 9th-Grade Summer Bridge

Rising 9th graders and school staff will get to know each other while building their understanding of high school. Students will enjoy various activities, such as team-building games, scavenger hunts to get to know their new schools, excursions and field trips, creative projects, performances, and presentations about high school and beyond. More information on signing up will be provided closer to the date.

Eligible students: Current 8th graders attending Jackson-Reed in the fall and enrolled for SY25-26.

Dates: Monday, August 4th-Thursday, August 7th

Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

  • 8:45 am: Check-in
  • 9:00 am- 9:15 am: Breakfast
  • 11:30 am- 12:00 pm: Lunch

At least 2.0 credits of the 24.0 required credits must earned through courses that appear on the approved College Level or Career Prep list (AP, CTE and college-level courses)

Terms To Know

Honors Coursework designed at an advanced level or pace for students how excel in that content area.
AP Advanced Placement courses that are college level and can lead to college credit.
Credits A unit to measure successful course completion. DCPS courses are either 0.5 or 1.0 credit.
GPA Grade Point Average- The average of quality points earned based on final grades at the end of the semester/year.
Rank A number representing each student’s position in their class based on their GPA.
Transcript A grade report that shows your semester grades, credits earned, GPA, and class rank.
CLCP College Level or Career Prep (AP, CTE courses and college-level courses).
