Greetings Jackson-Reed,
Last week, we hosted Dr. Andrea Brenner, co-author of the book “How to College: What to Know Before You Go (and When You’re There).” This was a very informative session with tons of practical advice, and I’d like to thank our PTSO for sponsoring this event. Many tips were shared, and it was made clear that regardless of a student’s academic standing or social disposition, colleges and universities are equipped to support students. This reminded me of the work we are doing here and the individuals we have supporting our Tigers at Jackson-Reed.
Our grade-level counselors and college and career coordinators support students’ transition to college. They help students with the college application process and understand admissions requirements. These individuals also assist with identifying financial aid opportunities and give guidance on completing applications such as the FAFSA. Beyond just these technical aspects, they help students develop the confidence and resilience to prepare for the demands of higher education in their careers. We are thankful to have each of them on staff and you can find more information on our post-secondary support by visiting our website.
With the continued commitment and support of our school community, we know our Tigers will be prepared to embrace their futures.
Tigers R.O.A.R.,
