Howard University has extended an invitation to the NSBE Chapter at Jackson Reed High School for an immersive day on February 23. This is a fantastic opportunity for our budding engineers to explore the diverse world of engineering programs. Exposure to different kinds of engineering can spark curiosity, broaden horizons, and help students discover their passion within this field. If your child is interested in participating, they can pick up a permission slip at the College and Career Center. Announcing the Swift Student Challenge 2025Devloper at Apple

The Swift Student Challenge gives you the opportunity to showcase your creativity and learn real-world skills that you can take into your career and beyond. Apple announced that submissions for the Swift Student Challenge 2025 will be open February 3-23. New this year, you can take part in an online session hosted by Apple, where you’ll learn more about participating in the Swift Student Challenge, explore properties of great apps with an Apple engineer, pick up tips from a former Challenge winner, and get inspiration for creating your own app playground. The Louis Goaziou Lodge #1953 Scholarship Program is open to all high school seniors currently enrolled in a Washington, D.C. or surrounding metro area high school in the 2024 - 2025 school year who are planning to attend an accredited U.S. college or other educational program starting in the 2025 - 2026 school year. Sheehy ScholarshipDickinson College

The Sheehy Scholarship awards full-tuition scholarships for eight semesters of full-time study at Dickinson College (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program). Recipients are top students from the greater Washington, D.C. area and demonstrate a high level of financial need. Recipients of the Sheehy Scholarship will be part of a cohort and receive mentorship, guidance and support.
