Principal's Message

Greetings Jackson-Reed Community,

This summer is going by quickly, and I hope you are spending time relaxing and enjoying family and friends. We are preparing for a productive 2024-2025 school year and are planning for students to return. We’ve filled 100% of our teaching vacancies, and our custodians are deep cleaning the building.

As we close out the summer, there are a few reminders that we’d like to bring to your attention:

  1. Enroll today – To ensure a smooth start of the school year, we encourage you to visit our website or stop by the main office and register before the first day of school.
  2. Family Orientations - Please check the schedule below and join us to learn more about the year ahead and connect with the individuals supporting your child(ren) towards graduation.
  3. DCPS Health Hubs – Vision screenings and immunizations are available at the schools listed here.

We look forward to seeing you and our Tigers in August and will send additional information closer to the start of school.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Tigers R.O.A.R,

DCPS-issued Laptop Distribution

DCPS-issued laptop device distribution will take place within the upcoming weeks in preparation for the first day of school.

To ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process, we have organized the laptop distribution alphabetically by the last name of the student. We kindly request that all students follow this schedule outlined below and collect their devices during their designated time slot only.

We would also like to extend a warm invitation to both students and parents to collect their DCPS-issued device during the Grade-level Orientations. This will provide an excellent opportunity to not only receive the devices but also to get acquainted with the school environment, faculty, and fellow grade-level students.
