2024 Jackson-Reed Budget Survey – We Want Your Feedback

Tiger Families, Staff, Students, and Community Members,

We hope your new year is off to a great start! We are happy to report that last month the LSAT was notified our petition supporting Principal Brown’s request to increase the Fiscal Year 2025 student enrollment projections for Jackson-Reed was partially approved. DCPS local school budgets are largely determined by the projected number of students expected to enroll in the school, therefore accurate projections are important to ensure adequate funding and resourcing.

We are entering an interesting time for our school community. The recent opening of MacArthur High School is intended to decrease enrollment, which we are beginning to see, and alleviate overcrowding at JRHS. This decrease in enrollment will result in a reduction of the JRHS budget, which, again, is largely determined by the number of students enrolled in a school.

As we enter the DCPS budget season we are asking you to complete this brief survey to help Jackson-Reed’s Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) understand the budget priorities and needs of our school community. Your responses will be kept confidential and will be used to directly inform the budget planning process for the upcoming academic year. The survey will close at 12pm on Monday, January 22nd and will be shared with the community in early February.

Thank you for your participation!

The Jackson-Reed Local School Advisory Team
